Responsible Relationships: Accountability & Education Program Information
The Responsible Relationships: Accountability & Education Program is designed to assist men in examining their belief systems and behaviors in relationships. Participants are encouraged to expand their understanding of the power and control wheel, discuss the impact of such actions on women, children, and themselves, and identify and practice alternatives.
Duration: The program lasts for 14 weeks.
Program Goals: The primary goals of DAPS program include:
- Increase awareness of behaviors that contribute to harm in intimate and family relationships.
- Promote personal responsibility for past actions and future choices.
- Build understanding of healthy, respectful, and non-controlling relationship dynamics.
- Support the development of communication and decision-making skills consistent with responsible relationships.
Scope of Services (What we do): DAPS provides an educational program designed to promote accountability, increase awareness of behaviors and support change. The program is curriculum-based and delivered in a structured group format over a defined period of participation.
Services focus on education, skill development, and personal accountability, including examination of beliefs about power and control, responsibility for behavior, healthy relationship skills, emotional regulation strategies, and the impact of your behaviors on partners, children, and the community. Participation includes required attendance, completion of assigned coursework, and compliance with program expectations as monitored by the program.
This program is not psychotherapy, counseling or clinical mental health treatment. No diagnoses are made, and no individualized treatment plans are developed. Services are not medical in nature and are not billable to insurance. Participation in this program does not replace the need for individual therapy, substance use treatment, or other clinical services when those services are indicated or ordered.
The program maintains communication with referring courts, probation, and other authorized entities solely for the purposes of attendance verification, compliance reporting, and program completion status, consistent with applicable laws and participant authorizations.
